BEFORE AND AFTER GLAM LOOK part one

Eye shadow enhances the eyes, the most noticeable feature of the face. Applied correctly, it can make your eyes appear larger or smaller, sultry or professional, wide set or close-set. An eye shadow base helps reveal and enhance the color of eye shadow and helps it last longer. It also makes it easier to blend your eye shadow. Read on to learn how to apply an eye-shadow base.

Step
1
Select a cream base or powdered form of eye shadow base. Choose a shade that is close to your complexion. There are both light and dark shades available so test a variety of base colors before settling on the right one.

Step
2
Put some eye shadow base on your finger or a make up sponge to apply a cream base. For a powder base, use a regular eye shadow brush

Step
3
Gently apply the base onto your eyelids. Work from your lash line up to your eyebrows with steady strokes.

Step
4
Blend the base color gently into your skin, making sure to avoid a visible line.

Step
5
Check your application in natural light. If it appears that you have applied too much base, then rub it off gently with a tissue paper or a new brush.

BEFORE AND AFTER GLAM LOOK part two

Applying makeup skilfully is important to completing a finished look, but blending makeup is just as important. This is particularly important when blending eye makeup, whether you wear two or three eye shadow shades or just one.

Step
1
Blend eye makeup only after you've applied all the eye shadow shades you want to wear. Apply all three eye shadow colors if you're planning to wear highlighter, midtone and accent colors. For the best effect, the highlighter color should be your lightest eye shadow color.

Step
2
Wait to apply eyeliner and mascara until after your eye shadow is blended; otherwise, you'll end up with a big mess to clean up.

Step
3
Use the brush you used to apply your accent color to blend your eye makeup so that you don't get your darker accent color on the brush you use for your other two lighter eye shadow colors.

Step
4

Buy a tapered blending brush for applying and blending eye makeup if your budget permits. You'll get a much better end result than if you use the small eye shadow brushes that accompany discount store makeup. Better yet, splurge on high-end eye makeup for the best application.

Step
5
Move the makeup brush lightly across eyelids and under the eyebrows to blend eye shadow and remove any excess makeup.
